AN ACT
1 Amending Title 3 (Agriculture) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, providing for nutrition labeling of fast foods.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Title 3 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes
6 is amended by adding a section to read:
7 § 8102. Fast food labeling.
8 (a) Nutrition information.--Fast food sold within this
9 Commonwealth shall bear a nutrition label on the package or
10 container containing the following information in easy-to-read
11 type style:
12 (1) Serving size.
13 (2) Servings per container.
14 (3) Total calories.
15 (4) Calories from fat.
16 (5) Saturated fat.
17 (6) Total carbohydrates.
1 (7) Number of milligrams of sodium per serving.
2 (8) Cholesterol content per serving.
3 (9) Number of total dietary fiber grams per serving.
4 (10) Number of grams of protein per serving.
5 (b) Definition.--As used in this section, the term "fast
6 food" means food sold at a public eating place that is not
7 prepared to order and is typically received promptly after an
8 order for it is placed.
9 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
