AN ACT
1 Amending Titles 24 (Education) and 71 (State Government) of the
2 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
3 supplemental annuities commencing 2003 and for special
4 supplemental postretirement adjustment of 2002.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 8348.7(e) of Title 24 of the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
9 § 8348.7. Supplemental annuities commencing 2003.

11 (e) Benefits to beneficiaries or survivors.--[No]
12 Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the
13 supplemental annuity provided under this section shall be
14 payable to the beneficiary or survivor annuitant of a member who
15 dies before July 1, 2003.

17 Section 2. Section 5708.8(e) of Title 71 is amended to read:
18 § 5708.8. Special supplemental postretirement adjustment of
1 2002.

3 (e) Benefits paid to beneficiaries or survivors.--[No]
4 Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the
5 special supplemental postretirement adjustment provided under
6 this section shall be payable to the beneficiary or survivor
7 annuitant of a member who dies before [the effective date of
8 this section] April 23, 2002.

10 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
