AN ACT
1 Providing for advertisement for bids on public contracts on the
2 Internet.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. General rule.
6 Any legal requirement that the Commonwealth or a political
7 subdivision, authority or other public entity advertises for
8 bids on a contract of any kind may be satisfied by placement of
9 the advertisement on the Internet in compliance with regulations
10 promulgated by the Department of Community and Economic
11 Development in lieu of placing the advertisement in a newspaper.
12 Section 2. Regulations.
13 The Department of Community and Economic Development shall
14 promulgate regulations to facilitate implementation of Internet
15 advertisement under section 1 within three months of enactment
16 of this act. The regulations shall not be subject to the
17 requirements of the act of June 25, 1982 (P.L.633, No.181),
1 known as the Regulatory Review Act.
2 Section 3. Effective date.
3 This act shall take effect in three months.
