A RESOLUTION

 

1Designating May 7, 2013, as "Pennsylvania Breast Cancer
2Coalition Day" in Pennsylvania in recognition and celebration
3of the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition's 20th
4anniversary and the countless contributions the organization
5has made to this Commonwealth in continuing its mission of
6finding a cure for breast cancer "now . . . so our daughters
7won't have to".

8WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC) was
9formed in 1993 by a dedicated, active and effective group of
10breast cancer survivors who were united by the common cause of
11finding a cure for breast cancer; and

12WHEREAS, Throughout its 20-year history, PBCC has evolved
13into a powerful organization committed to education, outreach
14and advocacy on the issue of breast cancer and an influential
15voice and advocate for breast cancer survivors and their
16families throughout this Commonwealth; and

17WHEREAS, PBCC serves all women throughout this Commonwealth
18through its unique programs, such as Friends Like Me Care
19Packages, Refunds for Research Campaign and 67 Women, 67

1Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in Pennsylvania, a traveling
2photo exhibit; and

3WHEREAS, PBCC empowers survivors and all women throughout
4this Commonwealth with its legislative advocacy and inspires
5attendees at the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition Conference
6held each October; therefore be it

7RESOLVED, That the Senate designate May 7, 2013, as
8"Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition Day" in Pennsylvania in
9recognition and celebration of the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer
10Coalition's 20th anniversary and the countless contributions the
11organization has made to this Commonwealth in continuing its
12mission of finding a cure for breast cancer "now . . . so our
13daughters won't have to".
