AN ACT

Providing for a voluntary contribution system to aid in the

2

preservation of the Pennsylvania State Memorial and other

3

sites at the Gettysburg National Military Park.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Voluntary contribution system.

(a)  Designation.--The Department of Revenue shall provide a

8

space on the face of the Pennsylvania individual income tax

9

return form whereby an individual may voluntarily designate a

10

contribution of any amount desired for the preservation of the

11

Pennsylvania State Memorial at Gettysburg National Military

12

Park, all monuments to Pennsylvania regiments on the Gettysburg

13

battlefield and the preservation of the battlefield positions

14

those units defended in 1863.

(b)  Deduction from refund.--The amount so designated by an

16

individual on the income tax return form shall be deducted from

17

the tax refund to which such individual is entitled and shall

not constitute a charge against the income tax revenues due the

2

Commonwealth.

(c)  Fund created.--There is created a special restricted

4

receipts account in the General Fund known as the National Parks

5

Trust Account.

(d)  Transfers of funds.--The Department of Revenue shall

7

determine annually the total amount designated pursuant to this

8

section, less reasonable administrative costs, and shall report

9

such amount to the State Treasurer who shall transfer such

10

amount from the General Fund to the National Parks Trust

11

Account.

Section 2.  Effective date.

13

This act shall take effect in 60 days.
