                                     AN ACT

     1  Providing for State sponsorship of Pennsylvania Free Enterprise
     2     Week.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5  Section 1.  Short title.
     6     This act shall be known and may be cited as the Free
     7  Enterprise Week Act.
     8  Section 2.  Definitions.
     9     The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
    10  have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
    11  context clearly indicates otherwise:
    12     "Board."  The Board of Governors of the system.
    13     "Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week."  The current program
    14  sponsored by businesses in this Commonwealth in which high
    15  school students, under the supervision of teachers and business
    16  leaders, simulate business activity for a seven-day period.

     1     "System."  The State System of Higher Education.
     2  Section 3.  Establishment.
     3     (a)  General rule.--Each summer the system shall sponsor
     4  Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week.
     5     (b)  Facilities.--The system shall provide facilities for
     6  Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week.
     7     (c)  Advice.--The system shall provide advice on curriculum
     8  to the Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week staff at no charge.
     9     (d)  Grants.--The system shall award grants of $45 per
    10  student to Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week.
    11  Section 4.  Cooperation.
    12     The board shall cooperate with the Pennsylvania Free
    13  Enterprise Week staff to implement section 3.
    14  Section 5.  Effective date.
    15     This act shall take effect in 60 days.
