           RICHARDSON, DUMAS AND SALVATORE, JUNE 28, 1976

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of October 17, 1969 (P.L.263, No.106), entitled
     2     "An act providing for the Traffic Court of Philadelphia,"
     3     further providing for the number of judges.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 2, act of October 17, 1969 (P.L.263,
     7  No.106), entitled "An act providing for the Traffic Court of
     8  Philadelphia," is amended to read:
     9     Section 2.  The Traffic Court of Philadelphia shall consist
    10  of [six] nine judges.
    11     Section 2.  At the municipal election in November, 1977, the
    12  qualified electors of Philadelphia shall elect three persons to
    13  serve as additional judges of the Traffic Court of Philadelphia
    14  from the first Monday in January, 1978, for terms of six years.
    15     Section 3.  Pending the elections authorized in section 2,
    16  the Governor is authorized and directed to appoint with the
    17  advice and consent of two-thirds of the members elected to the


     1  Senate, three persons as additional judges of the Traffic Court
     2  of Philadelphia to serve until the first Monday of January,
     3  1978.
     4     Section 4.  This act shall take effect January 1, 1977.
