AN ACT
1 Providing for the legitimation of children born by artificial
2 insemination in Pennsylvania.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Any child born to a married woman by means of
6 artificial insemination performed by persons duly licensed to
7 practice medicine and with consent in writing of the woman and
8 her husband, shall be irrebuttably presumed to be the legitimate
9 natural child of the husband and wife for all purposes.
10 Section 2. The aforesaid written consent shall be executed
11 and acknowledged by both the husband and wife and the physician
12 who performs the technique shall certify that he has rendered
13 the service.
14 Section 3. The consent form shall be kept on file in the
15 attending physicians confidential records.
16 Section 4. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
