HOUSE BILL

        INTRODUCED BY HAGARTY, PICCOLA, NAILOR, KOSINSKI, JOSEPHS,
           WOGAN, DEMPSEY, VROON, JADLOWIEC, FARGO, DeLUCA, NAHILL,
           ALLEN, GEIST, CLYMER AND SERAFINI, APRIL 17, 1990

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of September 30, 1983 (P.L.160, No.39),
     2     entitled "An act establishing salaries and compensation of
     3     certain public officials including justices and judges of
     4     Statewide courts, judges of courts of common pleas, judges of
     5     the Philadelphia Municipal Court, judges of the Philadelphia
     6     Traffic Court, district justices and the Governor, the
     7     Lieutenant Governor, the State Treasurer, the Auditor
     8     General, the Attorney General and certain other State
     9     officers and the salary and certain expenses of the members
    10     of the General Assembly; and repealing certain inconsistent
    11     acts," further providing for compensation of heads of
    12     departments.

    13     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    14  hereby enacts as follows:
    15     Section 1.  Section 3(a) of the act of September 30, 1983
    16  (P.L.160, No.39), known as the Public Official Compensation Law,
    17  amended July 3, 1987 (P.L.193, No.28), is amended to read:
    18  Section 3.  Compensation of Governor and Lieutenant Governor;
    19                 State Treasurer; Auditor General; Attorney
    20                 General; and heads of departments.
    21     (a)  The Governor, the Lieutenant Governor and Cabinet.--The
    22  annual salaries of the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor and the


     1  heads of the departments shall be as follows: Governor,
     2  $105,000; Lieutenant Governor, $83,000; Adjutant General,
     3  $72,000; Secretary of Aging, $76,000; Secretary of Agriculture,
     4  $72,000; Secretary of Banking, $72,000; Secretary of Commerce,
     5  $76,000; Secretary of the Commonwealth, $72,000; Secretary of
     6  Community Affairs, $72,000; Secretary of Education, $80,000;
     7  Secretary of Environmental Resources, $80,000; Secretary of
     8  General Services, $76,000; Secretary of Health, $80,000;
     9  Insurance Commissioner, $72,000; Secretary of Labor and
    10  Industry, $80,000; Secretary of Public Welfare, $80,000;
    11  Secretary of Revenue, $76,000; State Police Commissioner,
    12  $76,000; Secretary of Transportation, $80,000; Secretary of
    13  Corrections, $80,000.
