AN ACT
1 Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, providing for an offense for false
3 advertising of positions of employment.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
8 § 7509. False advertising.
9 (a) Offense defined.--It shall be unlawful for any person to
10 sponsor or place in any newspaper of general circulation an
11 advertisement for a position of employment, where at the time of
12 such sponsorship or placement, the advertised position does not
13 exist or where the position is not expected to exist in the near
14 future.
15 (b) Penalty.--A violation of subsection (a) constitutes a
16 misdemeanor of the third degree.
17 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
