AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for contents of application for
3 registration.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 1305(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 1305. Application for registration.
9 (a) General rule.--Application for the registration of a
10 vehicle shall be made to the department upon the appropriate
11 form or forms furnished by the department. The application shall
12 contain the full name and address of the owner or owners; the
13 make, model, year, odometer reading and vehicle identification
14 number of the vehicle; and such other information as the
15 department may require. Applicants for registration of a truck,
16 truck tractor, trailer or bus shall provide the vehicle's Gross
17 Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), or the Gross Combination Weight
18 Rating (GCWR), as applicable. If the manufacturer's ratings are
1 not available, the applicant shall provide sufficient
2 information as to the horsepower, braking capacity and such
3 other data as necessary for the department to determine an
4 equivalent measure of the vehicle's hauling and stopping
5 capability. If the applicant wishes to register a vehicle at a
6 registered gross weight less than the gross vehicle weight
7 rating, the application shall include information as to weight,
8 load and any other such information as the department may
9 require. The application shall be accompanied by self-
10 certification of financial responsibility and the applicable
11 fee.
