AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for requirement for periodic
3 inspection of vehicles.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 4702(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 4702. Requirement for periodic inspection of vehicles.
9 (a) [Annual] Biennial safety inspection.--Except as provided
10 in subsection (b), the department shall establish a system of
11 [annual] biennial safety inspection of vehicles, including
12 emergency vehicles, farm vehicles with a gross weight or gross
13 vehicle weight rating of greater than 17,000 pounds for which a
14 Type I biennial certificate of exemption has been issued and
15 private noncommercial vehicles used to transport students.
