| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 62 (Procurement) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
2 | Statutes, providing for debt collection contracts. |
3 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
4 | hereby enacts as follows: |
5 | Section 1. Title 62 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
6 | Statutes is amended by adding a section to read: |
7 | § 109. Debt collection contracts. |
8 | Contracts entered into by the Office of Attorney General for |
9 | debts to be collected under section 204(c) of the act of October |
10 | 15, 1980 (P.L.950, No.164), known as the Commonwealth Attorneys |
11 | Act, shall include a provision that before reaching a compromise |
12 | with a debtor to pay less than the full settlement owed, the |
13 | Office of Attorney General must present the referring agency |
14 | with documentation to justify the discount and receive approval |
15 | from the referring agency to enter into an agreement for such |
16 | payments. |
17 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
