AN ACT

Amending Title 62 (Procurement) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

Statutes, providing for debt collection contracts.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Title 62 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:

§ 109.  Debt collection contracts.

Contracts entered into by the Office of Attorney General for

debts to be collected under section 204(c) of the act of October

15, 1980 (P.L.950, No.164), known as the Commonwealth Attorneys

Act, shall include a provision that before reaching a compromise

with a debtor to pay less than the full settlement owed, the

Office of Attorney General must present the referring agency

with documentation to justify the discount and receive approval

from the referring agency to enter into an agreement for such

payments.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
