                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for issuance and content of
     3     driver's license; and making an appropriation.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 1510 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
     8  § 1510.  Issuance and content of driver's license.
     9     * * *
    10     (d.1)  Use of driver's license or identification card to
    11  indicate advance directive.--No later than one year following
    12  the effective date of this subsection, the department shall
    13  redesign the driver's license and identification card
    14  application system to include information regarding execution by
    15  the individual of an advance directive in accordance with 20
    16  Pa.C.S. Ch. 54 (relating to advance directive for health care).
    17  The following question shall be asked:

     1         Do you wish to have an advance directive designation
     2         printed on your driver's license or identification card?
     3  Only an affirmative response of an individual shall be noted on
     4  the front of the driver's license or identification card and
     5  shall clearly indicate the individual's execution of an advance
     6  directive in accordance with 20 Pa.C.S. Ch. 54.

     8     Section 2.  The sum of $100,000, or as much thereof as may be
     9  necessary, is hereby appropriated to the Department of
    10  Transportation for the fiscal year July 1, 2005, to June 30,
    11  2006, to carry out the provisions of 75 Pa.C.S. § 1510(d.1).
    12     Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
