AN ACT
1 Providing that all increases in compensation for members of the
2 city council in cities of the first class shall be subject to
3 referendum and approval by the electorate.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. No increase in salary or any other compensation
7 for members of the city council in cities of the first class
8 shall be effective until such increase has been submitted to the
9 electorate of the city for referendum at the next municipal or
10 general election and approved by a majority of those electors
11 voting thereon.
12 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
