AN ACT
1 Amending Title 24 (Education) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for creditable nonschool service.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Section 8304(b) of Title 24 of the Pennsylvania
6 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:
7 § 8304. Creditable nonschool service.

9 (b) Limitations on nonschool service.--Creditable nonschool
10 service credit shall be limited to:

12 (9) Service for a period of time spent on a leave of
13 absence taken in connection with the adoption of a child or
14 immediately following such adoption to provide care for the
15 adoptive child, which creditable service shall not exceed a
1 total of two years. The annuitant shall provide verification
2 of the adoption to the board.

4 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
