AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1225, No.316), entitled
2 "An act concerning game and other wild birds and wild
3 animals; and amending, revising, consolidating, and changing
4 the law relating thereto," further providing for nonresident
5 hunting licenses and making editorial changes.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Section 303, act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1225,
9 No.316), known as "The Game Law," amended October 4, 1978
10 (P.L.1004, No.213), is amended to read:
11 Section 303. Nonresident Hunting License Fees.--(a) Every
12 nonresident of this Commonwealth, upon application made, in
13 writing, to any agent authorized to issue such licenses, or to
14 the commission, unless any such person has been disqualified for
15 a license in the manner hereinafter specified, or is a resident
16 of a state which does not issue like licenses to residents of
17 this Commonwealth, and upon payment to said agent or commission
18 of [fifty dollars and fifty cents ($50.50) for the license year
19 beginning in 1979 and sixty dollars and fifty cents ($60.50) for
20 the license year beginning in 1980 and each year thereafter]
1 sixty dollars and fifty cents ($60.50) for a nonresident deer 2 license or thirty dollars ($30.00) for a nonresident small game 3 license (including turkey) shall be entitled to the license 4 herein designated as a Nonresident Hunter's License and a tag 5 with the type and number of the license thereon, which shall 6 entitle the holder to hunt for [all] those wild birds and wild 7 animals [which may legally be hunted in this Commonwealth] as 8 provided for herein, until the close of the license year. [Other 9 licenses valid for use by nonresidents shall be as follows:] 10 (b) A nonresident of the Commonwealth shall not be entitled 11 to a license to hunt for bear. 12 [Nonresident trapper's license which shall be issued only 13 upon application to the Commission in Harrisburg and which shall 14 be effective for the same period as hunters' licenses shall 15 entitle the holder to take through the use of traps or deadfalls 16 only wild birds and wild animals which may legally be trapped in 17 this Commonwealth, except beavers, three hundred fifty dollars 18 ($350). Nothing in this clause shall be construed to prohibit 19 the holder of a nonresident trapper's license from using a 20 sidearm or a rifle not larger than a .22 rimfire caliber to kill 21 legally caught birds and animals.] 22 Section 2.
