                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, further providing for attachment of
     3     income.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 4348(k) of Title 23 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 4348.  Attachment of income.
     9     * * *
    10     (k)  Effect of noncompliance by employer.--
    11         (1)  An employer or officer or employee thereof who
    12     willfully fails to comply with an order of attachment under
    13     this chapter may, as prescribed by general rule, be adjudged
    14     in contempt and committed to jail or fined by the court[.] in
    15     the amount of $25 for each day that the employer has not
    16     transmitted the appropriate support amount to the domestic
    17     relations office within the time period prescribed in

     1     subsection (i)(3), together with any other amounts as the
     2     court may deem appropriate for any other violations under
     3     this chapter.
     4         (2)  The employer shall be liable for any amount the
     5     employer willfully fails to withhold from income due an
     6     employee under an order of attachment of income and any
     7     amount which is withheld from such income but not forwarded
     8     to the domestic relations office. In the event an employer
     9     repeatedly and willfully fails to comply with an order of
    10     attachment within the time period prescribed in subsection
    11     (i)(3), the domestic relations office shall undertake to
    12     petition the court for an order of contempt against the
    13     employer.
    14         (3)  The court may, pursuant to general rule, attach
    15     funds or property of an employer.
