AN ACT
1 Making appropriations to the Wistar Institute-Research,
2 Philadelphia.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. (a) The sum of $237,000 is hereby appropriated
6 to the Wistar Institute-Research, Philadelphia, for the fiscal
7 year July 1, 1997, to June 30, 1998, for the operation and
8 maintenance of the institute. Payment of this appropriation <--
9 shall be made by the Secretary of Health in equal quarterly
10 payments.
11 (b) The sum of $102,000 is hereby appropriated to the Wistar
12 Institute-Research, Philadelphia, for the fiscal year July 1,
13 1997, to June 30, 1998, for research on acquired immune
14 deficiency syndrome.
15 (C) PAYMENTS ON ACCOUNT OF THE APPROPRIATIONS IN THIS <--
16 SECTION SHALL BE MADE BY THE SECRETARY OF HEALTH IN EQUAL
1 QUARTERLY PAYMENTS.
2 Section 2. The Wistar Institute-Research shall provide full,
3 complete and accurate information as may be required by the
4 Department of Health or the majority chairman or the minority
5 chairman of the Appropriations Committee of the Senate or the
6 majority chairman or the minority chairman of the Appropriations
7 Committee of the House of Representatives.
8 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 1997, or
9 immediately, whichever is later.
