                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of June 23, 1931 (P.L.932, No.317), entitled
     2     "An act relating to cities of the third class; and amending,
     3     revising, and consolidating the law relating thereto,"
     4     providing for increases in retirement allowance for employees
     5     other than police or city-paid firemen.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  The act of June 23, 1931 (P.L.932, No.317), known
     9  as The Third Class City Code, reenacted and amended June 28,
    10  1951 (P.L.662, No.164), is amended by adding a section to read:
    11     Section 4343.3.  Increase of Allowances After Retirement.--
    12  Any city may, at any time, at its discretion, upon the
    13  recommendation of the persons having custody and management of
    14  the pension fund for persons other than police or city-paid
    15  firemen, increase the allowances of persons other than former
    16  police or city-paid firemen receiving allowances of any kind
    17  from the pension fund by reason of and after the termination of


     1  the services of any member of said fund. Such increases shall be
     2  in conformity with a uniform scale, which may based on the cost
     3  of living, but the total of any such allowances shall not at any
     4  time exceed one-half of the current salary being paid to non-
     5  uniformed employes of the highest pay grade.
     6     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
