                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, further providing for services
     3     provided to certain organizations.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 1511 of Title 66 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 1511.  [Electricity] Service supplied to certain
     9             organizations.
    10     (a)  Electric.--Any public utility company supplying electric
    11  service shall, upon application, permit a volunteer fire company
    12  or a nonprofit senior citizen center to elect to have its
    13  electric service rendered pursuant to a rate schedule which


     1  provides equivalent charges for such service as residential
     2  rates upon execution of a contract for a minimum term of one
     3  year.
     4     (b)  Telephone.--Any public utility company supplying
     5  telephone service shall, upon application, permit a volunteer
     6  fire company to elect to have its telephone service in its
     7  engine room rendered pursuant to a rate schedule which provides
     8  equivalent charges for such service as residential rates upon
     9  execution of a contract for a minimum term of one year.
    10     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
