AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1225, No.316), entitled
2 "An act concerning game and other wild birds and wild
3 animals; and amending, revising, consolidating, and changing
4 the law relating thereto," further providing for overnight
5 camping on State Game Lands.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Subsection (g) of section 906, act of June 3,
9 1937 (P.L.1225, No.316), known as "The Game Law," amended June
10 21, 1967 (P.L.119, No.29), is amended to read:
11 Section 906. Use of Lands.--* * *
12 (g) No camp site lease may be issued to any person, nor
13 shall overnight camping be permitted on State Game Lands, except
14 [at] primitive camping upon a commission designated [sites
15 during specified periods of the game seasons] corridor adjacent
16 to the Appalachian Trail, or at commission authorized trail
17 shelters on recognized trail systems and except that such rights
18 may be granted to officers or agents of the [commission, or the
19 Board of Fish Commissioners] Game and Fish Commissions, or the
1 Department of [Forests and Waters] Environmental Resources, or
2 the United States Forest Service, or any other governmental
3 agency when necessary for the performance of official duties
4 incident to wildlife or forest preservation. Overnight camping
5 as authorized in this subsection shall be subject to the rules
6 and regulations adopted by the commission.
