A RESOLUTION 1 Proclaiming the week of May 5 through 11, 2002, as "Pennsylvania 2 Small Business Week." 3 WHEREAS, In 1992, of the 230,796 business firms in this 4 Commonwealth, 98.6% were classified as small businesses; and 5 WHEREAS, Small business in this Commonwealth employs 52.3% of 6 its private nonfarm workers; and 7 WHEREAS, The annual payroll of small businesses in this 8 Commonwealth exceeds $48 billion; and 9 WHEREAS, Most new jobs that are created in this Commonwealth 10 and nationally are in small businesses; therefore be it
