A RESOLUTION
Recognizing November 5, 2024, as Jason Kelce's birthday, and
December 13, 2024, as Fletcher Cox's birthday; and honoring
their careers as former players for the Philadelphia Eagles.
WHEREAS, Jason Kelce, born November 5, 1987, in Westlake,
Ohio, was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2011
National Football League (NFL) Draft to play as a center; and
WHEREAS, Jason Kelce played a total of 193 games over 13
seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles, consecutively starting in
156 of those games, was named an All-Pro player six times and
was selected as a Pro Bowl player seven times; and
WHEREAS, Fletcher Cox, born December 13, 1990, in Yazoo City,
Mississippi, was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2012
NFL Draft to play as a defensive tackle; and
WHEREAS, Fletcher Cox played a total of 188 games over 12
seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles, was named an All-Pro player
four times and was selected as a Pro Bowl player six times,

consecutively; and
WHEREAS, Both players were integral to the continued success
of the Philadelphia Eagles over the past 13 seasons, and both
were instrumental to the team's first Super Bowl victory in
Super Bowl LII; and
WHEREAS, Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox have worked with and
supported numerous charitable organizations and causes during
their time as players for the Philadelphia Eagles, showing their
support for the City of Brotherly Love both on and off the
field; and
WHEREAS, Jason Kelce is the founder of the (Be)Philly
Foundation, which supports charities that assist students in
Philadelphia public schools, particularly students from
historically underserved communities, by providing them with the
resources they need to improve their economic and educational
outcomes; and
WHEREAS, Fletcher Cox has donated $100,000 to the
Philadelphia Police Foundation to support the equipment needs of
the police; and
WHEREAS, Both Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox have ardently
supported the Eagles Autism Foundation, helping to raise
millions of dollars for the organization, which provides funding
and resources for the autism research and care community; and
WHEREAS, Both Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox announced in early
March 2024 that they were retiring from football after playing
for the Philadelphia Eagles for the entirety of their respective
careers; and
WHEREAS, During their time with the Philadelphia Eagles, both
men have continually shown through their words, actions and
charitable deeds what it means to be a Philadelphian; and

WHEREAS, While their sports careers may be over, their
passion and love for Philadelphia will surely continue to
inspire current and future generations of Pennsylvanians;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize
November 5, 2024, as Jason Kelce's birthday, and December 13,
2024, as Fletcher Cox's birthday; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor their
careers as former players for the Philadelphia Eagles.
