AN ACT 1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An 2 act relating to the public school system, including certain 3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial 4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the 5 laws relating thereto," further prohibiting the use of 6 standardized college entrance aptitude tests as factors for 7 the admission of individuals having dyslexia. 8 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 9 hereby enacts as follows: 10 Section 1. Section 2006-A(a)(6) of act of March 10, 1949 11 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, added 12 November 12, 1982 (P.L.660, No.188), is amended to read: 13 Section 2006-A. Powers and Duties of the Board of 14 Governors.--(a) The Board of Governors shall have overall 15 responsibility for planning and coordinating the development and 16 operation of the system. The powers and duties of the Board of 17 Governors shall be: 18 * * * 19 (6) To establish general policies for the admission of
1 students and to assure procedural protection for the discipline 2 and expulsion of students. The actual admission of students 3 shall remain the province of the individual institutions. Under 4 no circumstances, however, shall any resident of this 5 Commonwealth who has been diagnosed as having dyslexia, be 6 required to take any standardized college entrance aptitude test 7 to gain admission to a system institution.
