A RESOLUTION 1 Amending House Resolution No. 227, adopted May 22, 1984, 2 entitled "A resolution providing for the establishment of a 3 select committee to conduct an investigation to ascertain the 4 degree to which minority and women-owned businesses have been 5 utilized in contracts awarded by State agencies and to 6 determine if State agencies are conducting effective contract 7 compliance reviews," giving the committee subpoena powers. 8 RESOLVED, That House Resolution No. 227 be amended to read: 9 * * * 10 RESOLVED, That [the committee may hold hearings, take 11 testimony and make its investigations at such places as it deems 12 necessary in this Commonwealth. Each member of the committee 13 shall have the power to administer oaths and affirmations to 14 witnesses appearing before the committee;] the select committee 15 is specifically authorized and empowered to conduct hearings at 16 any place in the Commonwealth to investigate any matter provided 17 for in this resolution. Such select committee is empowered to 18 issue subpoenas under the hand and seal of the chairman thereof 19 commanding any person to appear before it and answer questions 20 touching matters properly being inquired into by the select
