                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Declaring June 17, 2001, as "Father's Day" in Pennsylvania.

     2     WHEREAS, Fathers give the gifts of love, experience and
     3  wisdom while also providing direction and purpose in our lives;
     4  and
     5     WHEREAS, We cherish the firm foundation and the dedication
     6  fathers provide for our families; and
     7     WHEREAS, Families depend on fathers to accomplish many
     8  difficult tasks with compassion and strength; and
     9     WHEREAS, Fathers provide strength, comfort, support and
    10  friendship in all stages of our lives; and


     1     WHEREAS, Fathers serve as important role models throughout
     2  their lives; and
     3     WHEREAS, For many people, fathers provide inspiration,
     4  encourage greatness and lead by example; and
     5     WHEREAS, We look to fathers for confidence and assurance as
     6  we venture through life and strive to achieve our goals; and
     7     WHEREAS, Fathering is a lifelong challenge with many rewards
     8  and requires dedication and commitment to instilling goals and
     9  values in future generations; therefore be it
    10     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives declare June 17,
    11  2001, as "Father's Day" in Pennsylvania; and be it further
    12     RESOLVED, That all citizens be encouraged to honor their
    13  fathers and fathers everywhere for the many valuable
    14  contributions they make to our lives, our families and our
    15  society.
