                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Recognizing May 1995 as "Better Hearing and Speech Month."

     2     WHEREAS, Audiologists and speech-language pathologists in
     3  this Commonwealth observe and celebrate "Better Hearing and
     4  Speech Month" each year during the month of May; and
     5     WHEREAS, All the residents of this Commonwealth should
     6  recognize and value the efforts of all who work to eliminate or
     7  minimize the isolating effects of communication disorders in the
     8  one in ten families affected by them; and
     9     WHEREAS, Many residents of this Commonwealth have overcome
    10  their communication disabilities through the services of
    11  dedicated audiologists and speech-language pathologists; and
    12     WHEREAS, Audiology and speech-language pathology services
    13  throughout this Commonwealth and our nation help to enable and
    14  empower individuals with communication disorders to lead
    15  independent, productive and fulfilling lives; and
    16     WHEREAS, The Commonwealth is proud and honored to have the
    17  many audiologists and speech-language pathologists who offer

     1  quality education and health care services to its residents;
     2  therefore be it
     3     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives proclaim the
     4  month of May as "Better Hearing and Speech Month" and encourage
     5  all the residents of this Commonwealth to recognize the
     6  achievements of audiologists and speech-language pathologists in
     7  improving the quality of life for people with communication
     8  disorders.
