                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, providing for reimbursement to volunteer fire
     3     companies that remove vehicles and spilled cargo from
     4     roadways.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Section 7310 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
     8  Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
     9  § 7310.  Removal of vehicles and spilled cargo from roadway.

    11     (d)  Costs of removal.--Volunteer fire companies that respond
    12  to vehicle accidents or cargo spills shall, upon determination
    13  of liability against a responsible party, submit a bill to the
    14  insurer of the responsible party or, if self-insured, to the
    15  responsible party, and shall be reimbursed for costs of

     1  responding to and for materials used in connection with removal
     2  and cleanup of property and debris.
     3     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
