        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, JUNE 6, 1991

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating August 6, 1991, as "National Night Out" in
     2     Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, The National Town Watch Association is sponsoring
     4  the eighth annual "National Night Out - America's Night Out
     5  Against Crime," a coast-to-coast community crime prevention
     6  event on August 6, 1991; and
     7     WHEREAS, It is important for all citizens of this
     8  Commonwealth to be aware of the importance of crime prevention
     9  programs and the positive impact that their participation can
    10  have on reducing crime and drug abuse in our neighborhoods; and
    11     WHEREAS, "National Night Out" provides an opportunity for
    12  citizens of this Commonwealth to join with thousands of other
    13  communities across the country in support of safer neighborhoods
    14  and to demonstrate the success of cooperative crime prevention

     1  efforts; and
     2     WHEREAS, Neighborhood awareness, spirit and cooperation are
     3  important themes of the "National Night Out" project and key
     4  components in helping law enforcement officials to fight crime
     5  and drug abuse; therefore be it
     6     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate August
     7  6, 1991, as "National Night Out" in Pennsylvania; and be it
     8  further
     9     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge all citizens
    10  to join their community law enforcement officials and the
    11  National Association of Town Watch in a united resolve to work
    12  together for the reduction of crime.
