        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           FEBRUARY 14, 2005

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the week of February 19 through 26, 2005, as "FFA
     2     Week" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, For more than 75 years, youths involved in
     4  agriculture and related sciences have benefited from an
     5  organization that builds leadership skills, develops personal
     6  growth and assists young people in finding successful careers
     7  through agricultural education; and
     8     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania FFA Association is being recognized
     9  for its contribution to our Commonwealth's food, fiber and


     1  natural resource systems through its positive efforts to help
     2  students and young adults in "learning to do, doing to learn,
     3  earning to live, living to serve," which is the FFA motto; and
     4     WHEREAS, The FFA gives direction and purpose to students'
     5  lives by promoting good citizenship, volunteerism, patriotism
     6  and cooperation; and
     7     WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania FFA is looking toward the future
     8  and establishing a strong vision for this evolving youth
     9  organization which will unlock the doors to endless
    10  opportunities; and
    11     WHEREAS, More than 7,500 members can take pride in more than
    12  75 years of success in teaching others about the importance of
    13  agriculture to all Pennsylvanians; therefore be it
    14     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
    15  week of February 19 through 26, 2005, as "FFA Week" in
    16  Pennsylvania.
