     2  read.

     4                   Powers and Duties of Standing
     5                   Committees and Sub-committees
     6                               * * *
     7     The Sub-committee on Corrections and Rehabilitation of the
     8  Judiciary Committee may issue subpoenas under the hand and seal
     9  of the Sub-committee chairman to compel the attendance of
    10  witnesses and the production of any papers, books, accounts,
    11  documents and testimony touching matters properly being inquired
    12  into by the Sub-committee and to cause the deposition of
    13  witnesses either residing within or without the State to be
    14  taken in the manner prescribed by laws for taking depositions in
    15  civil actions.
