A RESOLUTION
1 Urging the Governor to proclaim the week of February 3 to
2 February 9, 1985, as "State Gifted Student Awareness Week."
3 WHEREAS, "Gifted students" account for 2.3% of the general
4 population; must possess an I.Q. of 130 on an individual
5 psychological test; maintain at least a B average; and score 90%
6 or better on the total achievement battery of reading,
7 mathematics and sub-testing; and
8 WHEREAS, These gifted students are very highly motivated,
9 industrious and diligent achievers in the Pennsylvania State
10 Educational System; and
11 WHEREAS, These students are deserving of recognition and
12 encouragement; therefore be it
13 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge the Governor
14 to proclaim the week of February 3 to February 9, 1985, as
15 "State Gifted Student Awareness Week" in Pennsylvania; and be it
16 further
1 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
2 the Governor.
