AMENDMENTS TO HOUSE BILL NO. 2238

Amend Bill, page 1, lines 1 through 13, by striking out all
of said lines and inserting
Amending the act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), entitled
"An act relating to counties of the first, second class A,
third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth classes;
amending, revising, consolidating and changing the laws
relating thereto; relating to imposition of excise taxes by
counties, including authorizing imposition of an excise tax
on the rental of motor vehicles by counties of the first
class; and providing for regional renaissance initiatives,"
in district attorney, assistants and detectives, further
providing for district attorney, qualifications, eligibility
and compensation.
Amend Bill, page 1, lines 16 through 24; page 2, line 1; by
striking out all of said lines on said pages and inserting
Section 1. Section 1401 of the act of August 9, 1955
(P.L.323, No.130), known as The County Code, is amended by
adding a subsection to read:
Section 1401. District Attorney; Qualifications;
Eligibility; Compensation.--* * *
(q) District attorneys shall serve a maximum of two four-
year elected terms in office. An individual serving as district
attorney on the effective date of this section shall be eligible
to succeed himself or herself for one additional term.
