Amend Bill, page 6, by inserting between lines 12 and 13
(h) If it is discovered in the course of a claim for
compensation under subsection (g) that an employer wrongfully
classified an individual as an independent contractor, the
secretary may assess and collect civil penalties of not more
than two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) for the first
violation and not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000) for
each subsequent violation.
