7§ 1354.1. United States Olympic plate.

8(a) General rule.--The department, in consultation with the
9United States Olympic Committee or its designees, shall design a
10special United States Olympic registration plate, which shall
11display the official United States Olympic Committee logo and
12wording, which indicates support for the advancement of
13excellence in amateur athletic competition in this Commonwealth.
14The United States Olympic Committee may charge a fee for the
15authorization to request the registration plate. Upon request by
16the applicant, the department shall issue the plate for a
17passenger car or truck with a registered gross weight of not
18more than 14,000 pounds or a motor home. The fee provided under
19section 1931(b) (relating to personal and organization
20registration plates) shall apply.

21(b) Proceeds.--It is the intent of the General Assembly that
22proceeds received by the United States Olympic Committee under
23this section are to be used exclusively to provide funding to
24one or more nonprofit organizations, as defined under section
25501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (Public Law 99-
26514, 26 U.S.C. § 501(c)(3)), in this Commonwealth that focus on
27the advancement of excellence in amateur athletics.
