AMENDMENTS TO HOUSE BILL NO. 2134

1Amend Bill, page 1, line 6, by inserting after "repeals,""

2 in crime victims, further providing for rights; in 
3administration, further providing for office and for powers 
4and duties of victim advocate; and,

5Amend Bill, page 1, lines 10 through 12, by striking out all
6of said lines and inserting

7Section 1. Section 201 of the act of November 24, 1998
8(P.L.882, No.111), known as the Crime Victims Act, is amended by
9adding a paragraph to read:

10Section 201. Rights.

11Victims of crime have the following rights:

13(1.1) To be notified of the Address Confidentiality
14Program established under 23 Pa.C.S. § 6703 (relating to
15Address Confidentiality Program) if eligible to participate
16in the program under 23 Pa.C.S. § 6704 (relating to persons
17eligible to apply).

19Section 2. Section 301(a) of the act is amended to read:

20Section 301. Office.

21(a) Establishment.--There is established within the board
22the Office of Victim Advocate to represent the interests of
23crime victims in accordance with 18 Pa.C.S. § 9402 (relating to 
24office of victim advocate) and before the board or department.
25The office shall operate under the direction of the victim
26advocate as provided in this section.

28Section 3. Section 302 of the act is amended by adding
29paragraphs to read:

30Section 302. Powers and duties of victim advocate.

31The victim advocate has the following powers and duties:

33(1.1) To advocate for the interests of crime victims
34generally, including the victims of crimes committed by
35juveniles as set forth in 18 Pa.C.S. § 9402 (relating to
36office of victim advocate).

1(6) To ensure crime victims are notified of the Address 
2Confidentiality Program established under 23 Pa.C.S. § 6703 
3(relating to Address Confidentiality Program) if eligible to 
4participate in the program under 23 Pa.C.S. § 6704 (relating 
5to persons eligible to apply).

6Section 4. Section 1101 of the act, amended June 28, 2002
7(P.L.496, No.85), is amended to read:
