1 Amend Sec. 2 (Sec. 302.1), page 2, lines 12 through 14, by
2 striking out all of said lines and inserting
3 effective date of this section for the fiscal period beginning
4 July 1, 2006, and ending June 30, 2007, and July 1, 2007, and
5 ending June 30, 2008, and no later than August 8 of each year
6 thereafter.
7 Amend Sec. 3 (Sec. 303), page 3, lines 3 and 4, by striking
8 out "THE FISCAL PERIOD JULY 1, 2006, THROUGH JUNE" in line 3 and
9 all of line 4 and inserting
10 the fiscal period beginning July 1, 2006, and ending
11 June 30, 2007, and July 1, 2007, and ending June 30,
12 2008.
13 Amend Sec. 3 (Sec. 303), page 4, by inserting between lines 1
14 and 2
15 (1) Beginning with the fiscal period commencing July 1,
16 2006, and ending June 30, 2007, and July 1, 2007, and ending
17 June 30, 2008, and each year thereafter, the agency shall
18 provide written instructions for grants under this act to the
19 fire chief and president of every volunteer fire company in
20 this Commonwealth no later than September 1 of each year.
21 (2) Beginning with the fiscal period commencing July 1,
22 2006, and ending June 30, 2007, and July 1, 2007, and ending
23 June 30, 2008, and each year thereafter, the agency shall
24 provide applications to the fire chief and president of every
25 volunteer fire company no later September 8 of each year.
26 Volunteer fire companies seeking grants under this act shall
27 submit completed applications to the agency. The application
28 period shall remain open for 45 days each year. The agency
29 shall act to approve or disapprove applications within 60
30 days of the application submission deadline each year.
31 Applications which have not been approved or disapproved by
32 the agency within 60 days after the close of the application
33 period each year shall be deemed approved.
34 Amend Sec. 3 (Sec. 303), page 4, lines 2 through 21, by

2 Amend Sec. 5 (Sec. 502.1), page 5, lines 13 and 14, by
3 striking out all of said lines and inserting
