AMENDMENTS TO HOUSE BILL NO. 301

Amend Bill, page 1, line 5, by inserting after "thereto,""
in pupils and attendance, further providing for actual cost of
tuition and maintenance of certain exceptional children in
the four chartered schools for education of the deaf and the
blind;
Amend Bill, page 1, line 5, by inserting after "changes"
; and making a repeal
Amend Bill, page 1, lines 8 through 12, by striking out all
of said lines and inserting
Section 1. Sections 502, 925, 923.2-A, 1328, 1338 and
1376(a) of the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as
the Public School Code of 1949, are amended to read:
Amend Bill, page 7, by inserting between lines 21 and 22
Section 2. Section 1376.1(b.2) of the act is amended by
adding a paragraph to read:
Section 1376.1. Actual Cost of Tuition and Maintenance of
Certain Exceptional Children in the Four Chartered Schools for
Education of the Deaf and the Blind.--* * *
(b.2) Payments are as follows:
* * *
(4) From money appropriated to the Department of Education
for Pennsylvania Chartered Schools for Deaf and Blind Children
for the 2022-2023 fiscal year, the amount of $1,000,000 shall be
used for capital-related costs and deferred maintenance to be
divided equally between each Chartered School for Education of
the Deaf and the Blind.

Section 3. Sections 1377, 1377.1, 1379, 1502-E(b), 2108,
2501(11), 2509 heading and (b), 2517(e) and 2541(b)(3) of the
act are amended to read:
Amend Bill, page 20, line 4, by striking out all of said line
and inserting

Section 4. Repeals are as follows:
(1) The General Assembly declares that the repeal under
paragraph (2) is necessary to effectuate the addition of
section 1376.1(b.2)(4) of the act.
(2) Section 1723-F.1(5)(ii) of the act of April 9, 1929
(P.L.343, No.176), known as The Fiscal Code, is repealed.
Section 5. The addition of section 1376.1(b.2)(4) of the act
and the repeal under section 4 of this act shall apply
retroactively to July 1, 2022.
Section 6. This act shall take effect as follows:
(1) The following shall take effect immediately:
(i) The addition of section 1376.1(b.2)(4) of the
act.
(ii) Sections 4 and 5 of this act.
(iii) This section.
(2) The remainder of this act shall take effect in 60
days.
