Subject: CS (Challenging Secrecy) of Per Diem
 
In the immediate future, I will be introducing a bill titled “CS (Challenging Secrecy) of Per Diem.”  While many lawmakers elect to submit actual business expenses for reimbursement, some lawmakers choose to utilize the no-receipt / no-accountability system to receive as much as $296.00 per day. 

Abusing this system has led to one lawmaker receiving $32,410 in tax-free money during 2021 alone, which is more than the average income in their legislative district. 

This legislation will eliminate the per-diem system and require all legislators to submit actual receipts for expenses incurred.  

Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation to ensure that all legislators are being good stewards of taxpayer money and are transparent with their constituents.
