The committee received testimony on four pieces of legislation regarding the State System of Higher Education that would amend the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949. HB 2442 (Roae), would further provide for power and duties of institution presidents; HB 2443 (Roae), would prohibit free or reduced tuition for family members of employees; HB 2444 (Roae), would further provide for project contracts; and HB 2446 (Roae), would prohibit paid sabbaticals.
