SMITH, Samuel Hiram, a Representative from Fayette County; born, November 20, 1818 in Centerville, Washington County, Pa.; merchant; elected, council, Brownsville (1869-1871); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1872 and 1873 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1874 term; justice of the peace, Brownsville; elected, burgess, Brownsville (1893); died, May 22, 1902 in Michigan; interred, Redstone Cemetery, Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
