SILVERMAN, Louis, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa., February 28, 1909; graduated, Central High School; B.S.C. and LL.B., Temple University; graduate, real estate appraisal course, Michigan State University; served, Coast Guard Reserves; local correspondent, Variety magazine; owner, antiques shop; chief appraiser, Philadelphia Inheritance Tax Department (1952-1957); lecturer on early American and Continental antiquities; proprietor, Louis Silverman Associates, Appraisers; co-founder, Theater for the Living Arts; ward leader, 14th Ward Democratic Committee; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1957, 1959 and 1969 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1961 and 1971 terms; died, August 20, 1992 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mount Sinai Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
