BLACK, Robert, Sr., a Representative from Mercer County; born, 1800 in Adams County, Pa.; captain, Springfield Light Infantry, Mercer County Militia; farmer; elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1847 and 1848 terms; died while in office, April 10, 1848 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Center Church Cemetery, Pine Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
