REILLY, Bernard, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born, February 14, 1814 in County Cavan, Ireland; captain, Schuylkill County Militia (1844); lieutenant colonel, aide-de-camp to Governor Francis R. Shunk (1846); railroad builder and contractor; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1852 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1853 term; elected, associate judge, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Schuylkill County (1856-1861); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1861-1864); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1872); elected, delegate, Democratic National Convention (1872); died, November 30, 1892 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
