McFARREN, James, a Representative from Washington County; born, 1786; farmer; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1840); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1842 term; elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1848); director, Pittsburgh and Steubenville Railroad Company (1850-1851); died, 1866 in Washington County, Pennsylvania; interred, Florence Cemetery, Florence, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
