BLAINE, Alexander W., a Representative from Erie County; born, 1812 in Pennsylvania; appointed, justice of the peace (1845); elected as a Whig to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1851 and 1852 terms; director, The Bank of Commerce, Erie (1858-1860); broker, private firm; cashier, First National Bank, Erie (1865-1870); proprietor, Short, Blaine & Co., banking firm (1871-1878); died, 1878 in North East, Erie County, Pennsylvania; interred, North East Cemetery, North East, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
