DOUGLAS (DOUGLASS), Joseph, a Representative from Crawford County; born, March 22, 1792 in Pennsylvania; lieutenant colonel, First Regiment, Crawford County Volunteers, Pennsylvania Militia (13 years); merchant; elected, treasurer, Crawford County (1828-1830); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1838-1839 and 1841 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1840 or 1842 terms; elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1848); farmer; died, December 28, 1866 in Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greendale Cemetery, Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.
