McGHEE, John Charles, a Representative of Clinton, Lycoming and Potter Counties; born, April 27, 1818 in Clinton County, Pennsylvania; second lieutenant, Company E, 80th Regiment, 7th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry (1861-1863, Civil War); clerk; elected as an American to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1855; unseated by contest, February, 1856; died, September 10, 1888 in Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania; interred, Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall, Clinton County, Pennsylvania.
