SMYTH, John, a Representative of Clinton, Lycoming and Potter Counties; born, November 13, 1804 in Jacksonville, Centre County, Pa.; colonel, Pennsylvania Militia; elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention (1843); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1845 term; reelected to the House for the 1849 term; died, September 25, 1864 in Jacksonville, Centre County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lick Run Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Jacksonville, Centre County, Pennsylvania.
